Aquafaba is the liquid left from the garbanzo beans works as an epic egg 🍳 sub because it does not alter the flavor of the end product.
Substitute in recipes usually 1-2 Tbsp for recipe that calls for egg whites and 2-3 Tbsp if recipe calls for whole eggs.
Recipe makes 5 mini waffles (we usually prep extra to allow for quick and easy breakfast options during the week)-
Ingredients:
3/4 cup milk of choice (we used unsweetened califia toasted coconut @califiafarms )
1/2 of mashed 🍌 banana
1 Tbsp Apple 🍎 cider vinegar
1/2 cup Aquafaba
1 1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup unbleached all purpose flour
4 dates soaked in warm water (pitted and then blended into a paste)
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp extract of choice (we used almond)
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
Mixed dry and wet ingredients separate and then combine. We used the dash waffle iron which makes perfect lil waffles that the kids and adults alike love ❤️. Easy to clean and doesn’t stick.
Make extra waffles and keep them in the fridge Or freezer for the week ahead - just pop them in the toaster oven to warm up.
